In an event on Wednesday last week, Archbishop Luc Terlinden and Brussels Chief Rabbi Albert Guigui, unveiled a plaque in the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula recognizing the antisemitism.

The Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Ministry published a brief that examined Albanese's conduct, calling it "fundamentally incompatible" with the responsibilities of her role.

Ashab al-Yamin claimed responsibility for the incident, claiming that such attacks will continue until "the blood of Palestinians, Lebanese, and all Muslims" is avenged.

The move follows an explosion this month at a synagogue in Liege, an arson attack on a synagogue in Rotterdam, and an explosion at a Jewish school in Amsterdam.

The move comes one week after an Islamic Resistance-aligned terror group carried out an attack on a Liège synagogue, prompting several Belgian politicians to call for increased protection of Jews.

The group seemingly did not exist before this week and, unusually, does not have its own Telegram or social media channels. Usually, such groups create channels straight away.

Liege's mayor, Willy Demeyer, called the incident an "extremely violent act of antisemitism" in comments made to French-language public broadcaster RTBF.

“You must make a legal provision to allow Jewish religious mohels to perform their duties here in Belgium. It’s done in all civilized countries as legal procedure,” the US Ambassador to Belgium wrote.

US Ambassador White tweeted, “Anti-Semitism is unacceptable in any form and it must be rooted out of our society. And I call upon all of Belgium to do a much better job on this subject."
