The scale of the US strikes on Iran on Thursday was "about twice the size of the previous night," a source told The Jerusalem Post, adding that the strikes were "wide, extensive, and impactful."

The US halted an attack on Iran "that would have been the biggest attack since World War II, which would have been disastrous for them," Trump explained.

The officials called Trump's statements a desperate attempt to blackmail Gulf state rulers and pressure them with threats.

Rubio said US military pressure has left Iran "eager" for deals on denuclearization and the Strait of Hormuz, as Trump halted strikes and said an agreement could be imminent.

"The USA is locked and loaded and ready to go against the Islamic Republic of Iran, at levels of Military Terror, Strength, and Power not seen since World War II," Trump claimed. 

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said those providing financial, logistical, or commercial support to the IRGC or Mahan Air are “helping sustain a terrorist enterprise."

Netanyahu denied pressuring Trump to enter or escalate the Iran war, saying the US president is the "senior partner" as the two leaders discussed the Hormuz blockade and further military action.

Several locations in southern Iran were targeted by US forces, with explosions heard in the cities of Bushehr, Abu Musa, Kish Island, Ahwaz, and Qeshm Island, Iranian state media Press TV reported.

A US official told The Jerusalem Post that Iran had launched at least four ballistic missiles towards a US military base in Jordan, adding that "This was a major attack."

When Netanyahu eulogized former senator Lindsey Graham as Israel's "number one friend," Trump responded: "No, I'm Israel's number one friend. Lindsey is number two."
