For years, living kidney donors were common among relatives and friends, but what Matnat Chaim in Israel and other organizations are encouraging is the donation of a live kidney to strangers.

The revolutionary device is expected to be tested in humans by 2028.

‘I’ve always had that altruistic streak and always sought out ways to help where I could,’ donor Eric Steger said.

Each family brought a hanukkiah and a picture of a deceased family member who donated their organs when they died.

The implant is inserted into the knee joint through a small incision and mimics the function of the natural meniscus

"Your brother and our Nechama are now together. And he was with her all the time. He gave her great strength."

A team of Tel Aviv University researchers revealed the heart, which was made using a patient’s own cells and biological materials.

Donated by family of youth who drowned.

"Shabbat Shalom, sir, we are happy to inform you that a kidney is waiting for you to be transplanted in the hospital and you have to arrive in the operating room within an hour," said the officers.

"Since the transplant, my life has changed in every way,” Tzofit Ben Shau reflected after receiving a transplant with the help of Matnat Chaim.
