The very existence of Israeli settlements in the West Bank constitutes a form of structural violence against Palestinians, and that reality faces virtually no opposition within Israel’s Jewish public

According to Army Radio, IDF troops and police were dispatched to the area shortly after the attack to investigate the incident and search for suspects.

Yehuda Shimon confirmed to the reporter that, despite his occupation as a lawyer, the only law that really mattered to him was the Bible. 

Stephens, who has spent years pushing back on what he sees as double standards applied to Israel, wrote that he decided to speak out against what he called “Jewish terrorists” despite his reluctance.

The UN human rights office warned that settler violence and settlement expansion in the West Bank have intensified, urging international action.

"Why didn't I sign for the settlers? Because that is not terrorism. Only someone who acts against the security of the state, someone who acts to harm [the state]," the defense minister said.

In a letter to Trump, the IDSF accused international organizations and Israeli rights groups of inflating reports of settler violence to undermine Jewish communities in the West Bank.

It is not yet clear whether the additional deployment will remain in place throughout the summer, as the military continues to reassess a rapidly shifting situation.

The President of the Palestinian National Authority sent letters to Arab nations and the UN requesting international support after violent incidents in the West Bank saw an uptick in the last week.
