The wounded man was evacuated in serious condition to Wolfson Medical Center, where medical teams were forced to pronounce his death.

The court declined to release Sasson to house arrest at this stage but ordered the Probation Service to submit an assessment within 30 days. Her detention will be reconsidered at an October hearing.

The court also ordered Mukin to pay NIS 258,000 to Omari’s estate, disqualified him from holding a driver’s license for three years, and confiscated the Glock pistol used in the shooting.

Prosecutors allege that he stabbed Dadon once in the chest and his cousin once in the neck, intending to kill them both. He then fled to his housing unit, the indictment says.

Police suspect the three men, two brothers and their cousin from Jaljulia, were shot before the vehicle was set on fire early Sunday.

The court also ordered the defendant to pay Rabi’s family NIS 258,000, the maximum compensation available under the law, and imposed an additional suspended prison term.

If the jury does not reach a verdict and a mistrial is declared, prosecutors would need to decide whether to retry the case, which has included more than 80 witnesses and more than 300 exhibits.

“The path to physical violence first passes through verbal violence,” Amit told a special Israel Bar Association conference in Tel Aviv, convened following the killing of attorney Arbel Feldman.

Prosecutors do not dispute that Clancy had been dealing with mental health issues, but argued she was able to appreciate the wrongfulness of killing her children and intentionally chose to do so.
