The military said that both terrorists were suspected by the Shin Bet of planning and promoting terrorist plots to harm the citizens of the State of Israel and the IDF.

The police stated that, overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday, Border Police officers, accompanied by supervisors from the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, infiltrated the area.

Jibril Zubeidi, a senior Fatah figure from Jenin and brother of former al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades commander Zakaria Zubeidi, was released after being held in administrative detention since 2023.

Army Radio reported that IDF forces had been operating in a refugee camp in Jenin. Troops located a suspicious object and picked it up, apparently leading to the explosion.

The military carried out these operations using Shin Bet intelligence. 

City College of New York (CCNY) Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), John Jay College SJP, City University of New York (CUNY) for Palestine, and CUNY Stoop Sales for Gaza organized a bake sale.

At least 10 Palestinians were detained by Israeli forces operating in the area, with IDF using drones to monitor and locate more suspects inside the refugee camp.

Sources noted that representatives of several families offered to “take measures against any member who acts independently or takes the law into their own hands.

The suspects were reportedly detained for questioning on violence and weapons offenses, which included two pistols, two rifles, stun grenades, and seized ammunition.

To date, the IDF and the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) have succeeded in catching and stopping such efforts, but some of the rocket building efforts have progressed to later stages.
