The families argued that facilitating the departure of Gaza residents who wish to leave could improve Israel’s security situation and weaken Hamas’s control over the local population.

A durable transition in Gaza will require phased disarmament, trusted verification, civilian recovery and reciprocal Israeli and Palestinian commitments.

The deal, announced by Trump on Thursday night, includes the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed groups in the Gaza Strip, which would then lead to an IDF withdrawal.

Dismantling armed militias could discourage locals from working with Israel, says a Gaza resident. "People will think twice for fear of being abandoned."

A Palestinian source said Hamas is distributing rifles to individuals under the guise of personal firearms, while insisting it will not disarm despite the Board of Peace agreement.

The Board of Peace on Friday released the full text of a roadmap for completing the implementation of US President Donald Trump's comprehensive peace plan in Gaza. 

Senior US officials said: "One of the important things for Israel is that it will not withdraw as long as there is a Hamas threat; Israel's withdrawal will occur according to a [later] schedule."

Hamas representatives reportedly met with IRGC officials on a recent visit to Iran for the funeral of former supreme leader Ali Khamenei, per Axios. 

Senior White House and Board of Peace officials praised a Gaza framework deal in which Hamas accepted its complete disarmament, while Israel has nothing to do beyond waiting for its implementation.

Israel's approval of an international stabilization force marks what supporters describe as a significant step toward rebuilding Gaza and replacing Hamas's rule.
