The haredi draft issue is growing in urgency as the bill returned to the Knesset agenda amid a coalition crisis that may dissolve the Knesset.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel told the 'Post' that Netanyahu’s coalition has exerted “massive pressure” on coalition lawmakers to vote in favor of the contentious draft bill.

Opposition leader Yair Lapid called on Monday for preparations to begin to dissolve the Knesset already next week, during a faction meeting at the Knesset.

Members of the anti-IDF draft Jerusalem Faction protest blocked Jerusalem’s Chords Bridge, causing traffic disruptions as Israel Police worked to restore order.

Protesters attempted to block vehicles while lying in the road, addressing officers deployed at Tel Hashomer with "hateful chants." 

Along with Yair Netanyahu and Barron Trump, the call for the children of world leaders and powerful figures to enlist is not new.

“The reservists are being abandoned because they don’t have a lobby in Likud. The mark of disgrace for abandoning IDF soldiers will be branded on every coalition member,” Bennett said.

The IDF is overhauling its pre-draft medical screening to streamline the process, remove unnecessary exams, and introduce new tests for better accuracy and efficiency in preparing draft candidates.

An Israel Democracy Institute researcher says the violence reflects long-standing shifts within haredi society and mounting friction over IDF conscription.

The aliyah minister asserted in December that he would vote against the proposed haredi draft law even at the risk of being dismissed from the government, calling the current outline "shameful.
