Attack Tunnels

IDF penetrates deeper into Hezbollah territory in southern Lebanon, killing 130 fighters and destroying a major tunnel network, all with less air support than in 2024.

The IDF said that the tunnel runs two kilometers in length and 10 kilometers in width, and was capable of fitting thousands of terrorists.

The capture happened after Friday's strike, in which three out of eight Hamas terrorists were killed while leaving a tunnel in Rafah, the military announced.

"When you see a hole in the ground next to the fence, you instinctively think of Hezbollah tunnels. This kind of anxiety doesn’t fade easily," a Shlomi resident commented.

Thousands of structures served as weapons storage facilities and command centers. Armed terrorists operated from inside an elementary school, and the tunnel network ran under civilian homes.

Over 60 terrorists organized into 10 terror cells were arrested by security forces, with most being released prisoners. 

The scope and severity of these atrocities spread daily. The hatred that never truly disappeared has returned, as if history insists on repeating itself.

While operating in the area, soldiers from the Shaldag Unit identified several tunnel shafts leading to the compound, which led to the exposure of the full tunnel. 

Intelligence officials clearly identified Hezbollah's complex tunnel system built 800 meters from the border, which, at the peak of the fighting, housed around 1,000 Hezbollah operatives.
