Jerusalem deputy mayor pushes to rename King George street after UK sanctions on settlements

Deputy Mayor Aryeh King submitted the request Wednesday morning to Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion, who also serves as chairman of the street naming committee.

Streets in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem are named after Britain’s King George V due to the Balfour Declaration supporting the establishment of a national home for the Jewish people in what was then known as Palestine, which was issued during his reign.

Chikli turns down apology to Gaza border communities for Oct. 7, blames Oslo accords

"The oversight happened on the government's watch, and I think (asking me to say) sorry is like blaming us, right? Like we did it intentionally, and I don't believe in that," Chikli stated.
