"I just don't know if they're worthy of making a deal," Trump told reporters on Air Force One after the NATO summit in Turkey. "I don't know that they're going to honor the deal; that's the problem."

Asked about the cost to taxpayers, Trump said the gifted plane cost "very little relative to what it would cost if we did it a different way."

The US government's acceptance of the luxury 747 from Qatar raised questions about whether it was an inappropriately expensive gift.

A source with knowledge of the matter later told the 'Post' that there has been progress in talks with the Iranians regarding groundwork for negotiations.

The Qatari gift has drawn criticism from Democrats and advocates of good government, who warned it was a conflict of interest that could influence presidential decisions.

Trump said on Friday that he may end the ceasefire with Iran unless a long-term deal to end the war is agreed upon by Wednesday.
