Vanessa Trump announced Wednesday that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, sharing the news publicly in what she described as a personal health update.
Trump, 48, said she had recently undergone a medical procedure and was continuing treatment in consultation with her medical team. She did not disclose additional details regarding the stage of the diagnosis or her prognosis.
In a statement shared on Instagram, Trump wrote that she was “working closely” with her doctors on a treatment plan and thanked them for performing a procedure earlier in the week.
She added that she was “staying focused and hopeful” while surrounded by the support of her family, children, and those closest to her, and asked for privacy as she focused on her health and recovery.
Messages of support followed shortly after Trump publicly announced the news, including responses from family members and public figures expressing support and wishing her strength during her recovery.
No additional medical updates had been publicly released as of Wednesday evening.
