Between extended reserve duty rotations that lasted more than 400 cumulative days, Tzach Mitrani and Ronen Daniel, soldiers from the Egoz Unit, chose to pause the routine of emergency service for a moment and establish a new culinary venture in Netanya. This is how Happicerie was reborn – a kosher European-style deli located in the Piano Center complex in Ir Yamim, which recently underwent a redesign and was redefined as a space that combines food, hospitality, and community life.

The venue offers a concept that blends classic European style with a contemporary atmosphere: White tablecloths, carefully selected serving ware, and elegant interior design, alongside an informal approach designed to encourage guests to stay longer rather than simply stop by briefly. According to the partners, the main idea was to create a place “that feels personal” and one that people would want to return to regularly.

Behind the venture stand four partners: Chef Shon Bar David, who leads the culinary direction; Tzach Miterani, a restaurateur and entrepreneur; Ronen Daniel, a technology entrepreneur; and Omri Ben Harush, a football player and Netanya resident. According to them, the collaboration is based on long-standing friendship and familiarity, some of which also developed during reserve military service.

The menu is built around all-day activity. In the morning, guests can enjoy fresh pastries, pancakes, avocado toast, and breakfast dishes alongside coffee and fresh juices. At lunchtime, homestyle dishes such as grilled chicken, moussaka, and spaghetti are served, with the option to take food home. In the evening, the atmosphere transforms into a tapas bar, offering dishes such as fish tartare, sea bass fillet, and cocktails. On weekends, customers can also find ready-made homemade dishes, including couscous, lamb shank, Moroccan-style fish, and whole salmon.

In addition to the restaurant, the venue features a large display of kosher food prepared fresh daily, alongside a variety of pantry products: Olive oils, vinegars, spreads, spices, jams, honey, granola, pasta, and sauces. Israeli wines and additional beverages are also available.

According to the partners, the inspiration behind the establishment also stems from their personal experiences during reserve duty: “After such an intense period, it was important for us to create a place that brings people together through food.”

The business also offers catering services for events, with personalized menu options for a wide variety of occasions, including birthdays, corporate events, Brit Milah ceremonies, and other private gatherings.

Happicerie is located at 10 Shoshana Damari Street in Netanya, and operates Sunday through Thursday between 8:00 AM and 11:00 PM, and on Fridays and holiday eves between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
