At the time, the military said that the Judea and Samaria District Police had opened an investigation into the clashes in Huwara, specifically regarding footage of uniformed IDF soldiers.

When they searched the scene, Israeli security officials found assault weapons and incendiary materials hidden in the bushes, and seized them as evidence for the investigation. 

According to police, the stabbing victim was attempting to put out a fire, which had been set by Palestinian residents of a nearby village.

The two suspects were not named; one is a 16-year-old girl, and the other is an 18-year-old boy from the city of Elad. 

The driver, a 28-year-old resident of Beitar Illit who was coming from Gush Etzion into Jerusalem, claimed that the donkey was unwell and that he was taking it to a farm in east Jerusalem.

The police investigation, conducted alongside the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), uncovered photographic evidence proving that the suspects possessed and carried illegal firearms.

“I call on the people of Israel, in a clear voice: remember that elections are not a civil war," Herzog said ahead of Israel's upcoming elections.

"The IDF demands that the LAF continue to operate within the agreed areas," the military warned. "Any deviation without prior coordination could endanger its forces."

The budget is to be taken from government decision 550, which was approved in 2021 to reduce economic and social gaps between Arab society and the rest of the population.

Earlier on Tuesday, police said that a 16-year-old Palestinian boy in their custody had admitted to planning to attack an IDF soldier when he was initially arrested on Saturday night.
