At least seven members of the Fatemiyoun, an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-funded and trained Shi’ite militia, composed primarily of Afghans, and one gunman were killed in clashes at a school reportedly used as a base by the terror group in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province on Monday, according to the Haalvsh human rights monitor.
Unknown gunmen attacked the terrorists at the base in the Sofla School in the village of Bir, in Kahiri district of Konarak County, Haalvsh reported.
Sources told the human rights monitor that the two armed motorcyclists entered the village at 4 p.m. on Monday and opened fire on the Fatemiyoun forces stationed at the school. In addition to the seven or more killed, several people are said to have been critically wounded and removed from the scene by ambulance.
Though Haalvsh did not identify the gunmen, the IRGC-owned Tasnim News Agency said they were affiliated with Jaish al-Adl, a Baloch nationalist militant organization operating across the Iran-Pakistan border.
Tasnim did not report on any casualties from the event beyond a wounded gunman, whom it claimed had attempted to attack “army personnel.”
Iranian regime security officer killed by gunman
Additionally, Haalvsh reported a regime security officer killed by an unidentified gunman in Saravan city, Saravan County, in the same province, at around 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday – near the governor’s office building and the local branch of the Islamic Azad University.
The slain security force member was identified as 3rd-Lt. Hojjat Vafakarde, a member of the Saravan County police intelligence unit.
Tasnim reported that the attack was carried out by members of “a terrorist group affiliated with the United States and the Israeli regime.”
