In the deserted Ait a Shaab in southern Lebanon, troops of the IDF's Nahal Infantry Brigade have established a position in a former Hezbollah stronghold.
Today, Ait a Shaab, once a center for the Iranian proxy militia, is bereft of its Shia inhabitants and mainly rubble.
The IDF reportedly chose the village as the location to invite Israeli military correspondents on their first visit to Lebanon since hostilities recommenced in March this year. The Jerusalem Post joined the tour.
The 162 Division informed reporters during the tour that it is satisfied with the military’s progress made in Lebanon over the past few weeks. However, significant questions remain about the direction of events and the future facing residents of Israel's border communities.
This is a developing story.
