Kuwait's State Security Agency caught a network of attempted terrorists affiliated with Hezbollah, the Interior Ministry announced on Wednesday.

According to a post made on X/Twitter by the Interior Ministry, six figures were identified within Kuwait as being part of the network, along with 14 others located outside of Kuwait.

"It has been established that they are linked to the banned terrorist organization Hezbollah," the Interior Ministry said, "as the network was planning to carry out assassination operations targeting state symbols and leaders, and to recruit individuals to perform these tasks."

Terror suspects admit to receiving Hezbollah training

The ministry also claimed that the suspects had confessed to espionage and to a willingness to commit acts of terror for the organization, including the assassination of national leaders.

The suspected terrorists were also alleged to have admitted to receiving training abroad from Hezbollah agents, including the use of weapons and explosives, surveillance techniques, and assassination skills.

"The Interior Ministry reaffirms that the security of the State of Kuwait, its sovereignty, and its national stability are a firm red line that brooks no violation or leniency," the Interior Ministry emphasized, calling the suspects' actions treasonous.

"Security agencies will stand vigilant against anyone who dares to threaten the country's security or collaborate with terrorist organizations, taking the utmost legal measures against anyone proven to be involved, without leniency or exception."
