The IDF responded to a confrontation between several Palestinians and Israeli settlers near Ma’aleh Gilboa in northern Israel after a group of Palestinians reportedly threw stones at a shepherd on Saturday.
Upon arriving at the scene of the incident, IDF soldiers attempted to detain the individuals suspected of throwing the stones and fired shots into the air.
Soon after, additional efforts were made to detain suspects, and one suspect was shot in the lower body. The wounded suspect was evacuated from the scene in an ambulance.
An initial assessment of the incident indicated that the shepherd was in a grazing area and left after the suspects began throwing stones.
The incident is under investigation and will be reviewed by the IDF’s Menashe Brigade commander.
