Israel is considering expelling British, and possibly other European, officials from the US-led coordination center for post-war Gaza, officials familiar with the details confirmed to The Jerusalem Post on Thursday.
According to the officials, the possibility is being considered "in light of Britain's conduct in recent months."
Britain currently has the second-largest delegation, after the US, at the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) headquarters in Kiryat Gat, and the deputy to the American general commanding the force is British.
This comes after Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar recently said Dutch representatives stationed at the headquarters following a series of anti-Israel measures taken by the Dutch government, the latest being legislation banning trade in Israeli products from the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights, which will take effect next month.
An Israeli official denied the report that Israel was considering removing German and Italian representatives from the international coordination center for Gaza in Kiryat Gat.
“This is fake,” the official told The Jerusalem Post.
Open letter released by French, British diplomats denouncing Israeli Gaza conduct
Last week, over 100 former diplomats from France and Britain published and signed an open letter accusing Israel of systemically destroying Gaza and its population.
The letter was published shortly after Israel was condemned by 11 countries, France and the UK included, for publishing construction tenders for the E1 settlement project.
The countries called the project "unacceptable," with the UK adding it would prepare targeted sanctions against those involved in settlement expansion.
Both countries recognized the State of Palestine in 2025.
Separately, Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker said on X/Twitter on Saturday that Israel “must immediately withdraw the E1 settlement plans and halt settlement expansion in the West Bank.”
