A young woman who volunteers with Magen David Adom (MDA) filed a police complaint this week, alleging that two fellow MDA volunteers sexually assaulted her in her apartment in Beit Shemesh.
In her report, the complainant stated that the two men had given her drinks at a social event that were drugged before raping her at her residence.
The alleged incident took place approximately nine months ago.
Since the accusation became public, both suspects have vehemently denied the claims.
The suspects and the complainant reportedly knew each other well through their volunteer work with MDA.
Police investigation, and arrest
Following the complaint, police launched an investigation and arrested both men, who are in their 20s, on suspicion of rape after gathering preliminary evidence.
Police have requested a six-day extension of the suspects' detention, and the court has currently ordered that one of them be released to house arrest.
