Former minister and Member of Knesset Maj.-Gen. (res.) Elazar Stern joined Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar, the party announced on Monday.
"Elazar dedicated decades to Israel's security and public service and has extensive experience as a minister, member of the Knesset, and IDF major-general. Over the years, he led a consistent struggle for universal service, the people's army model and statesmanship, and worked to connect different parts of Israeli society from a Jewish, democratic and Zionist perspective," Eisenkot stated.
Earlier this month, Stern announced his resignation from Yesh Atid, where he had been a member since 2015, and initially said he would resign from the Knesset entirely.
Former Kulanu leader joins Yashar
Later on Monday, Yashar announced that former MK Roy Folkman, who used to lead the Kulanu faction at the Knesset from 2015 to 2019, would be joining the party.
"Roy has rich political and parliamentary experience, alongside deep expertise in public policy and leading reforms," said Eisenkot in a statement.
Yashar said that Folkan joined the party due to the significant role in a series of legislative moves and reforms in the areas of housing, cost of living, media, small businesses, and competition in the economy during his time as an MK of the 20th Knesset.
"Roy represents exactly the professionalism, statesmanship, and execution ability that we will return to the government and the Knesset," Eisenkot added.
"From my experience in the Knesset, I learned that real change requires hard work, knowledge, and a willingness to fight obstacles and interests," Folkman said. "I believe that Gadi is the one who can provide responsible leadership, strengthen the public service, and return the national interest to the center of decision-making."
