Migdal HaEmek has opened its first birthday-themed playground at Park Hazetim, following a NIS 3 million investment, according to the municipality and playground design company Elo & Nitzan. The new public space was planned to provide families in the northern city and surrounding area with a dedicated outdoor venue for children’s celebrations.
The playground includes equipment for children of different ages, a central stage for activities and small performances, and colorful design elements inspired by birthday celebrations. The municipality said the project is intended to serve as a new community gathering point for families.
A public space built for family celebrations
The park was designed to allow families to hold birthday events without the need for a complex private production. Its features include a birthday chair for the celebrating child, a welcoming birthday sign at the entrance, a large birthday table for food and gifts, varied seating areas, and decorative installations.
The play area also includes climbing structures, toddler and children’s swings, slides, spring trampolines, and additional play equipment. The project follows other family-oriented recreation developments in Israel, including JPost coverage of Elo & Nitzan’s Ashkelon Eco Park playground.
Municipality says project strengthens community life
Migdal HaEmek Mayor Yaki Ben Haim said the new playground reflects the city’s investment in creative public spaces. “I am proud to see innovative initiatives such as the new birthday garden at Park Hazetim, which bring real value to the residents of Migdal HaEmek,” he said.
“This is a unique complex that connects community, family and joy, and enables every boy and girl to celebrate special moments in an accessible, safe and enjoyable way,” Ben Haim added. “We will continue investing in creative public spaces that enrich quality of life in the city.”
Elo & Nitzan points to family-focused design
Helen Ruth Nitzan, founder and CEO of Elo & Nitzan, said the company was proud to plan and build the first birthday garden in Migdal HaEmek. “The garden was planned and designed to provide city residents with a complete and convenient celebration experience, alongside diverse playground facilities that will allow children to play and celebrate their birthdays in the most enjoyable way,” she said.
The project comes amid broader attention to accessible and family-focused recreation spaces, including plans for accessible playgrounds across Israel, a planned indoor water park in Dimona, and family entertainment spaces designed around accessibility and visitor experience.
Elo & Nitzan, founded in 1997, designs, manufactures, imports and installs playgrounds, fitness facilities, street furniture and lifeguard stations across Israel. The company says it works with municipalities, institutional clients and private customers, carrying out about 150 projects a year.
