The high-tech park of Yokneam Illit, one of the city’s major economic anchors, continues its momentum of growth and expansion. Recently, after months of intensive work by municipal authorities with the Israel Land Authority, the ILA published a tender for the park’s expansion, which will include an additional approximately 54,000 sq.m. of built space for employment, commerce, tourism, and leisure and entertainment complexes.
In fact, the biggest news is the establishment of the first hotel in Yokneam. The expansion is also expected to attract additional high-tech companies to the city, increase the supply of quality jobs, and continue to cement Yokneam’s position as the high-tech capital and a leading regional employment center. Alongside offices and high-tech companies, the new complex will also include leisure and entertainment areas such as cafés, restaurants, bars, pubs, and additional recreation centers, allowing the younger generation and the city’s residents to enjoy quality leisure life without needing to travel to nearby towns.
As part of the expansion plan, called M-8, six employment plots will be built, each eight stories high with up to 360% construction. In addition, a mixed-use plot will be built combining commerce, employment, and tourism, including 40 innovative hotel rooms - the first of their kind in Yokneam - catering to businesspeople, guests, delegations visiting the park, and more. Two plots will also be dedicated to parking lots as part of comprehensive preparations for increased activity in the area.
“Ensuring Yokneam continues to develop”
The promotion of the expansion plan is part of a broad policy led by Mayor Roman Peres to combine economic growth, employment development, and the expansion of cultural and leisure offerings, as well as extensive activities to promote businesses. In promoting the plan, Mayor Roman Peres emphasizes: “We are ensuring that Yokneam continues to develop and establishes its position as the natural choice for families who want to build a future with innovative education, quality of life, quality work, and housing.”
Now, following the tender, the plan continues to advance, and the next step is issuing a tender for the execution of development and infrastructure works, alongside many other projects in these areas being promoted in Yokneam.
